OTTAWA– Liberal critic for Foreign Affairs Dominic LeBlanc made the following statement today on the soccer riots in Egypt:
“We extend our deepest condolences to the people of Egypt on the violent events in Port Said last night that resulted in over 70 deaths and many more injured.
We support all efforts to bring justice to those affected by these riots and encourage the new Egyptian government to ensure that this process is transparent, independent and in the spirit of the law.”
